posted May 19, 2020, 2:32 PM by Erica Ford   [ updated May 19, 2020, 2:37 PM ]

On Wednesday, May 20th,, the school will begin allowing students to pick up their belongings.  Due to Covid-19, the school has set up a strict schedule with guidelines for pick up to ensure social distancing that keep students and faculty safe.    Each grade level has been designated a specific pick up day and time based on the student’s last name.  Please reference the schedule below for your child’s pick-up information

Ø     Pick up will take place in the side parking lot. See the attached diagram.

Ø     Parents should pull up to the designated centrum door.  Provide your student’s name to the staff member and he/she will bring the belongings to the vehicle.

Ø     Please remain in the vehicle at all times and do not park.

Ø     PE belongings have been bagged and will be available for pick up as well.

Ø     Students need to return items such as textbooks, library books, band instruments, etc during this time.

Ø     If your child has a sibling in another grade, please let the staff know and you can pick up their belongings at the same time.

Ø     Parents/Guardians may ONLY pick up belongings for their student(s).

Football Meeting 3/5/20

posted Mar 5, 2020, 5:29 AM by Josh Daniels   [ updated Mar 5, 2020, 5:50 AM ]

There was a letter passed out to rising 7th and 8th graders who attended the football interest meeting this morning.  There was a typo on that letter as it regarded to physicals.  The correct information is as follows:  physicals run from May 1 of current year and last through June 30 of the succeeding year.
Meaning... If your child played a sport during the 19-20 school year, the physical they had to have in order to participate is good through June 30th.
If they did not play a sport the 19-20 school year and have not had a physical, they will need one now in order to participate in conditioning sessions in March and April of 2020,  AND they will need another physical dated AFTER May 1, 2020 in order to participate over the summer, but that physical will last them the entire 20-21 school year.
This is as it pertains to VHSL guidelines.
It is not mandatory that they attend these conditioning sessions to come out for football in the fall, But if they choose to do so they must have a valid physical as it pertains to these guidelines.

Football conditioning

posted Mar 4, 2020, 9:15 AM by Josh Daniels   [ updated Mar 5, 2020, 4:22 AM ]

There is no Football conditioning today (3/4/20) due to the athletic spring sports dead period.  The dead period is lifted tomorrow.  Information that was posted on their Facebook page was inaccurate.
Tomorrow morning (3/5/20) at 7:50, Coach Blankenship will be in the forum to have a meeting with rising 7th and 8th graders interested in doing football conditioning.
