English Language Learners

English Language Learners Program:

The goal of Campbell County Schools’ programs for English Language Learners is to provide research based instruction that advances students’ skills to become fully proficient in English while meeting the same academic standards expected of all other students. ELL teachers work collaboratively with the students’ regular classroom teachers to design instruction based on World Class Instructional Design (WIDA) English Language Development Standards (ELD) that addresses the student’s strengths and needs. Students identified as needing ELL services are placed for specific amounts of time in language instruction programs based on English language proficiency levels and grade.
